The Capricorn Controversy:
Some astrologers differ on what the period of Capricorn is. Saturn is 30 yrs using the planetary period itself. Valens advocated the use of 27. His reason was that Capricorn should get 1/4 of the greater years of Cancer (1/4 of 108 = 27) being opposite that sign whereas Aquarius being opposite Leo should get 1/4 of 120 greater years of Leo, which is 30. The examples from the ancient books seem to use 27 for Capricorn as well. I am of the opinion that one should use 27 as well. But I have included the use of 30 and also the 365.25 day year as well for all current interpretations of the method.
