Fortune and Spirit in same Sign:
Valens says that we should take the releasing (aphesis) of Spirit from the sign following Fortune in zodiacal order and take Fortune from its own sign. This is because when we are first born we rely on the sustenance of our mothers (Fortune) but do not develop a reputation until we have matured later on. This maturation is symbolized by taking the next sign in zodiacal order.
