Mercury in Twelfth House

MercuryMercury: If Mercury is lord of this place or is present then native may have to be careful of others talking behind his/her back. Frequently this is an indication of weak communication abilities, but if Mercury is dignified or received it may simply mean that communication happens behind the scenes. Also the native may be good at research or secretarial work. But according to Paulus: "When the star of Hermes [Mercury] occupies this place, it will produce thieves, evil-speakers, evildoers, exploiters, deceivers and hypocrites. But sometimes it will make secretaries, schoolmasters, interpreters or advocates". [80] Here we see both the positive and negative sides of Mercury. In some cases it also represents carelessness with details, unless Mercury should be dignified or received.
